After walking for what seemed miles on holiday and now starting our 10 day detox we wanted to keep up the momentum and bought ourselves a second hand treadmill. I've got to admit that I will probably be using this the most, I tend to take the dogs out each day for their daily walk, but with quite a heavy workload I find it hard to do anything more, hence the treadmill.
I wanted it placed somewhere that it could be used quickly to avoid getting unmotivated thinking that I would have to spend time setting it up before using it and this was one excuse that I wanted to avoid. The plan is to use this every 1-2 days gradually building myself up in time, speed and incline, only time will tell. This is also a foldable treadmill so it's perfect for what we need. Hubbie and our teenage runners have started using it too and it's brought out the competitive side of the family.
So what did we buy, we bought the York Aspire Treadmill with Pro Fitness Floor Mat, it is so easy to use and alternate between different speed and incline settings. Love checking my pulse too to see how I'm doing as well as seeing how many calories I'm burning. Where as the boys are more concerned about how far they have done, again competitive side rearing it's head again.

Detox Update
So we are now on Day 4 and we are still going well, neither hubbie or I have found ourselves hungry which is a massive help. We had a little dip teatime on Day 2 were we both felt a nauseous but we were expecting that as the author mentions about the toxins from your body leaving. We've had fun with the dry brushing too. The recipes are going down well, a couple we're ok but we're really sticking to it to. My favorite recipes so far have to be ...
Breakfast
Blueberry Nut Millet
Lunch
Sweet Potato Salad
Dinner
Asparagus Soup
(and no it's not only soup on the dinner menu lol)

So envious! I'd love to have a treadmill to! I hope you have a great time working out.
ReplyDeleteTreadmills were the only machine back when I belonged to a gym that I just could not get into. Even then I was better off just walking for miles which I used to do with my dogs. I know a lot of people who swear by them and it sounds like you got yourself a really good one! As for that detox diet--glad to hear it is working for both of you!
ReplyDeleteWell done for doing so well! I would love to get a treadmill but since I'm living with my parents it isn't the best of circumstances to do so! Also I'd be pretty much the same with the competitive thing, makes it a bit more fun!

That sounds like a great treadmill and it is nice that it folds for storage! That menu sounds great!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on sticking to both thus far. I am seriously jealous I have no self discipline and I truly need it. I have a lot to lose. The treadmill sounds awesome. The last one I had used foot power and believe me not much of mine. Keep up the good work. You have me thinking I had better get busy with my small routine. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThat is an impressive piece of kit, have fun using it.
ReplyDeleteTreadmill looks great and the detox sounds good too. Hope it all continues to go well!
