Guest Book Review by Rachel Quaill
Wily and the Canine Pandemic
By M.Weidenbenner

What an amazing adventure from start to finish! Wily and the Canine Pandemic, by M.Weidenbenner was a fun-filled mystery-adventure with plenty of life lessons. The perfect book for a child at the awkward “tween” age, when everything matters and learning who you are is only done through actually being brave enough to try.

M.Weidenbenner does a great job in hitting so many key adolescent issues while placing the reader in an unreal story, where the unlikely hero, Wily stays true to who he is instead of who others want him to be. Wily’s kind heart drives him to be much more brave than he ever thought he could. With a not so happy homelife and a definite outsider at school Wily finds solace in science.

The world is in peril with this unexplainable virus killing off all dogs and WIly knows his science experiment is just the thing to help bring them back to life. With his effort and ability to keep trying until he gets it right, he finds himself whisked away on an unlikely escapade that is scary, mysterious, and an eventual success. In the end, Wily manages to mend relationships with his new friends as well as within his own home and of course, successfully saving all the furry friends that the human race could never live without.

Michelle is an author, speaker, trainer and coach dedicated to leaving a legacy of leaders who care about bringing value to others and equipping the future generation. She's also known as the UNCOVER AGENT who helps people uncover their messages so they can UNLEASH them into the universe.

She grew up in the burbs of Detroit with five brothers. No sisters. Each time her mom brought the boy bundle home from the hospital Michelle cried, certain her mom liked boys better than girls. But when her brothers pitched in with the cooking, cleaning, and babysitting--without drama, Michelle discovered having brothers wasn't so bad. They even taught her how to take direct criticism without flinching, which comes in handy with book reviews.

DAY 15 of our Book Gifts Christmas Advent Calendar - Willow and Coco Meet Santa Claus by Rachel McGrath

Willow and Coco Meet Santa Claus
by Rachel McGrath

It's Christmas Eve and Willow the cat and Coco the dog are eagerly awaiting Santa Claus' arrival.

But when Santa arrives he finds presents torn and all of his cookies eaten and his cup of milk half finished. Naughty Willow and Coco!

Will Santa Claus be leaving anything in Willow and Coco's Christmas stocking this Christmas?

The fourth book in the Willow and Coco Children's series, especially released for this Christmas season.

Available to buy from...

"Another lovely, moral tale from Ms McGrath. What's Christmas like through the eyes of a dog and cat? As always, the illustrations were beautiful. Kids will not fail to love this story and the book presentation will keep them engrossed over and over again."

"This story is fun and carries a moral...like all her other children's books. It's smart storytelling from a talented all round author. Again Rachel McGrath has produced another book to keep children - and parents - happy."
--Above reviews from Amazon

Rachel McGrath was born in Australia and currently lives in the UK. She has won several awards for her memoir and children's novels. The Willow and Coco Children's series are aimed at early readers. Filled with colourful illustrations by Mario Tereso and short easy prose, this will be a family favourite.

Rachel says...
The best thing about Christmas for her is...it's a special opportunity to really be grateful for your family, friends and loved ones, spending time together and celebrating the year just passed.

This year is special because...
it's the first Christmas with my newborn son, Isaac. We waited a long time to have a baby and this year will be wonderful to spend it as a family.
