Just Three Dates by David Burnett plus $15 Amazon/Paypal Giveaway

NEW RELEASE...
When their mothers become matchmakers, entangling them in a series of dates with each other, Karen and Mark must each decide whether to entertain the idea of a “marriage of convenience,” or to hold out for an increasingly unlikely marriage based on love.

Since breaking with her last boyfriend, Karen has refused to trust any man her age. For the past three years, she has not dated the same one twice, and only one in ten has received even a goodnight kiss as she turned him away. Karen is an artist. She follows her feelings, lives in a cluttered loft, and gushes over vivid sunsets.

Mark still dreams about his almost-fiancée, and his date book has been empty since he threw her out a week before he’d planned to ask for her hand. His friends call him the “Ice Man,” since he seldom smiles, especially at a woman. A math professor at the College, logic guides his behavior, he loves order, and an elegant proof is a thing of beauty.

Both Karen and Mark have all but abandoned hope of ever falling in love, and, left on their own, these opposites would never attract. So, their mothers become matchmakers, entangling them in a series of dates by extracting promises that Karen and Mark will go out together three times, suggesting that, in the absence of love, a “marriage of convenience” is a live option.

If you enjoy heartwarming stories based on true-to-life behaviors, with complicated relationships and a less-than-certain outcome, this book is for you.

New Book Release & Guest Blog Post from author of Among the Olive Groves

NEW BOOK RELEASE !!
Among the Olive Groves
by Chrissie Parker

Elena Petrakis adores living on the Greek island of Zakynthos. When World War Two looms her way of life is threatened. Left with no choice she joins the island's resistance to fight for what she believes in; her family, her home, and her freedom.

Decades later, thousands of miles away in the Cornish town of Newquay, Kate Fisher prepares to celebrate her twenty-first birthday, but her joy is fleeting when she learns she is adopted. Abandoning life in England, Kate flees to Zakynthos, where she is forced to acknowledge a life she has struggled to come to terms with, one that will change her future.

From the beautiful crystal turquoise seas of the Ionian Islands to the rugged shores of the Cornish coast, 'Among the Olive Groves' is a story of love, bravery and sacrifice.

Available on Amazon.co.uk    and    Amazon.com

Destination everywhere!

I love the world and all it contains. A big planetary mass of land and sea, that holds wondrous beauty, incredible cultures, and thousands of years of history. From the lush green forests of the Amazon, to the sweeping sands of the Sahara desert, the world is a haven of mystery waiting to be explored.

I have always been fascinated with history, travel and archaeology. Why our ancestors did what they did, the inventions they created, the battles they fought and the clues to ancient life that they left behind. I have been lucky to travel to some amazing places. I've seen the Pyramids of Giza, walked through the ancient city of Petra in Jordan and toured the caldera of Crater Lake in Oregon, USA. Each held its own fascination for me and made me eager to learn more about this great world of ours.

My interest in history began when I was young. I don't remember the exact moment, but I do know that history was something I have always loved and wanted to learn more about. I used to go on daytrips with my family to visit ruinous castles, old archaeological sites such as Stonehenge and Avebury, and old country houses. In the UK we are lucky, the country has a very unique and lengthy history, and it was exciting learning about it; King Arthur, the Romans, the Tudors to name but a few. For me though it was the pull of foreign lands. At school we did a project on Egypt and I was hooked, I loved everything about it, the pyramids, the temples, the strange gods and goddesses, and it made me want to learn more. I wanted to be an archaeologist, but unfortunately life took me in a different direction, but that love of all things historical has remained with me, and continued to grow. So much so, that coupled with my interest in travel and I have found the perfect combination for writing material.

Among the Olive Groves is a good example of that. The dream getaway destination of Zakynthos in Greece merges with the history of world war two to make a unique story.

If you have never been to Zakynthos then you have missed out. The island sits in the Ionian sea just off mainland Greece. It has beautiful beaches, crystal turquoise seas and excellent Greek hospitality. The island is home to endangered Loggerhead turtles and has plenty of attractions to keep the visitor occupied; with monasteries and churches, a venetian castle, and shipwrecked cove to name but a few. Setting my book there was a must. I wanted to show readers what an amazing place it is. The world war two theme came purely by accident via a throwaway sentence said in passing by a local. When I gave it some thought, I knew that it would make a great story, and Among the Olive Groves was born.

My combined love of history and travel means that I have many ideas for books, I'm looking forward to one day being able to write about all of the places I have visited and love. For me it truly is a passion, and I hope that passion will shine through and make people want to share my love of these incredible places, so much so that they will want to visit them too.
