Hereafter by Terri Bruce
Afterlife Book 1
Why let a little thing like dying get in the way of a good time?
Thirty-six-year-old Irene Dunphy didn't plan on dying any time soon, but that’s exactly what happens when she makes the mistake of getting behind the wheel after a night bar-hopping with friends. She finds herself stranded on earth as a ghost, where the food has no taste, the alcohol doesn’t get you drunk, and the sex...well, let’s just say “don’t bother.” To make matters worse, the only person who can see her—courtesy of a book he found in his school library—is a fourteen-year-old boy genius obsessed with the afterlife.
Unfortunately, what waits in the Great Beyond isn’t much better. Stuck between the boring life of a ghost in this world and the terrifying prospect of three-headed hell hounds, final judgment, and eternal torment in the next, Irene sets out to find a third option—preferably one that involves not being dead anymore. Can she wipe the slate clean and get a second chance before it’s too late?

Terri Bruce has been making up adventure stories for as long as she can remember. Like Anne Shirley, she prefers to make people cry rather than laugh, but is happy if she can do either. She produces fantasy and adventure stories from a haunted house in New England where she lives with her husband and three cats. She is the author of Hereafter (Afterlife #1) and Thereafter (Afterlife #2). Visit her on the web at www.terribruce.net.
The first thing Terri thinks of at the thought of Christmas is...
"Yay! I get to pull out my Trans-Siberian Orchestera Christmas albums and play them endlessly for the next month." :-)
What makes Christmas special for Terri...
Christmas has always been a special time of year for us - my mom, who passed away January 2009, loved Christmas and always made it special: putting up holiday decorations, holiday baking, wrapping gifts. We didn't have a lot of money growing up, but my mom always went all out for Christmas and made sure it was always magical. As a kid, it was also the one time of year I could be assured of seeing all of my grandparents and aunts and uncles and cousins, and I loved getting together with my family. We always had a great time.
Terri's Christmas Wish for 2015…
Oh jeez, that's a hard one! Just one wish?! Well, I guess I'd have to say that I hope for a mild winter because last winter was brutal in New England. I hope Mother Nature treats us nicer this year!

I came early for Terri's interview so I wouldn't forget. (Advent has a way of getting away from me.) I share her wish for less snow this year, but on the other hand, snow days make great reading days for those of us who get them!
