Both dog's are rescue, with their own little (or big!!) issues yet they are loved tremendously by all of us even when they are totally naughty. We have a Border Terrier and a Border Collie, the stubborn terrier thinks he owns the house and can steal any shoes from the cupboard he sees fit where our lady Collie is rather nervous at times but enjoys bossing the Terrier constantly, just like a marriage I suppose. Which is why we normally buy quality dog food that balances their behaviour.
We tried the Harrington's Rich in Salmon and Potato, when I opened the bag I was pleasantly surprised not to be overwhelmed by a fishy smell. The food is made up of medium sized crunchy pieces of food. Into the bowl and we were ready for the big test, will the dogs like their new food?
As you can see both dogs came straight over to their feeding bowls and tucked in, they loved it. Our Terrier was there for ages he wasn't going to miss a piece while our Collie finished as much as she could eat, walked away and then came back later on.
Although they may have been a lot less left when she returned !!
The next day I did a little test by putting the new dog food into the bowl again but only partially leaving it showing by covering the rest with the old dog food we had been using. Obviously I was no match to them as they sniffed out the part of the bowl showing the new dog food and completely demolished it until they could find no more. So all in all I think that's a pretty big paws up for the new dog food.
Rich in Salmon & Potato Product Benefits from Harringtons |
Now comes my ignorance !! Thinking I was saving money all this time by buying a cheaper brand of dog food I compared the prices to find a shock - the old cheaper brand of dog food £2.99 for 2kg / Harringtons premium dog food £3.28 for 2kg, I certainly wasn't expecting that or the fact I could actually buy it from the supermarket or any of these local stockists (even France too).
I am proud to say that Harringtons are based in our beloved Yorkshire and have been since the late 19th Century and their products are made from sourcing locally grown products whenever available. To find out more about Harringtons Pet Food you can visit their website, blog or they are also on Facebook and Twitter.
They make a lovely pet food. We had some for the cats and they really liked it... so I keep buying it now ;-)
ReplyDeleteWe are about to review the Cat food for Harringtons! Our 3 cats seem to LOVE it! :)
ReplyDeleteSo funny that your dogs sniffed out the new food. My dog would do something like that.
ReplyDeleteI think this is what my Mum uses for her dogs, actually it is! She is also very impressed and now the dogs wont eat anything else bar this.

I don't have pets any more, but we found it was definitely worth seeking out a high quality food rather than the usual suspects
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of this brand before. I bet my dog would love it!
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of this brand before, I'm sure both my cat and dog would love this brand x
ReplyDeleteI don't have pets but I've heard really good things about this brand before - a lot of my friends use it!
ReplyDeleteI no longer have dogs but as I'm sure you know--they have perfected the art of getting to what they want and leaving the rest! I had to learn how to shove pills down one (all) of my dogs throats cause none of them would fall for the wrap in in cheese or meat routine!
ReplyDeleteI have never tried this with my three dogs. Thanks for sharing it sound amazing.
