Ozeri Thermo Glasses Experiment Time - A hot cup of filter coffee?

Every since buying our first home together many years ago we have never seemed to get the right filter coffee maker that will actually either give you a really warm cup of coffee or once you pour the coffee into a cup going cold after a few minutes.  Our latest machine is the best one we have had up to now, the Nescafe Alegria, but even with this the coffee doesn''t seem to stay warm for long once poured.  There must be a knack of doing this, if somebody knows please share.

So when I saw the rather stylish Thermo Glasses in the Ozeri Moderna Artisan Series, not only did I love the way they looked but I thought it would be a great way of testing them out by comparing them to the Nescafe glass cups that came with the machine and our standard normal cup to see which one would actually stay the warmest for longer.

I received a set of four of these handmade glasses, there are no handles to these glasses which seemed rather different, instead they have four dimples on the sides so you can easily grip them, don't let this put you off because once I used them and realised that the glass stayed really cool to the touch it was lovely to hold them like that. The glasses are also fairly lightweight.  The look of these glasses when filled are fantastic due to the way they have been designed as if the drink is sitting in mid air.

So for the experiment, I filled up the Ozeri Moderna glass (don't worry they are heat resistant), the Nescafe glass cup and our standard cup with coffee from the machine, stop watch at the ready!!  Luckily I love coffee!!  After a few minutes I tested them all and all of them had a good temperature.

How long do the drinks stay at a reasonable drinkable temperature from the filter coffee machine?

The results:

Ozeri Moderna Cup - 8 minutes

Nescafe Glass Cup - 8 minutes

Standard Cup - 6 1/2 minutes

Now these are shatterproof but there is no way I am even going to try and drop them to find out but they do come with a one year warranty. The Ozeri Moderna glasses are also completely dishwasher, microwave and freezer safe, 

I have to say that I would highly recommend these to anyone, you get style, quality and a rather great way to drink your hot and cold drinks.  These were the 8oz size perfect for fitting into a coffee machine, I would also like to purchase the larger size for when I make tea or other hot drinks, especially this time of year when the hot chocolate will be coming out more.  You can check them out over at Amazon.co.uk.
