Chicago wife, mother and finance executive Claire Cummings,
arrives at work one morning to discover her friend Julia has embezzled millions
and vanished. Blindsided and devastated by the betrayal, she’s sent home pending
further investigation. Claire’s bizarre death the following day sends everyone
reeling, guessing and looking for her in all the wrong places. In no time she's
addicted to an enchanting menagerie of tricks and techniques for getting the
living's attention, but most people are harder to reach than she'd ever dreamed
and even harder to set free.
She was still a mother, a wife, a daughter
and a friend... she'd move heaven and earth to keep it that way.
Sheri
Meshal’s Swallowtail is a haunting story about life, love, loss and just how far
we’ll go to control it all.
This debut from a thought-provoking new voice
in fiction begs the question… what would you do if all the rules changed, and
you were suddenly bestowed powers beyond your greatest imagination?

In response to your question of
What tricks and techniques would you use to get the 'living's' attention ?
If i was a ghost i would turn the lights off and on,

turn the television and radios off and on and smash dishes.

Never having been dead before (that I can recall) I'm not sure how I would catch the attention of the living. I'm not even sure I would want to! But I guess I could go with the traditional haunting poltergeist style - making noise, moving things from where they originally were, writing in the condensation on the bathroom mirror. . . whatever it would take should I be so obsessed :-)
ReplyDelete(Sorry if this is a re-post, I thought my first attempt posted but I don't see it so...)
ReplyDeleteNever having been a ghost before (that I am aware of) I'm not sure which methods would work best, or if I would even concern myself with the living any longer. However should I be so inclined I would likely go the traditional poltergeist route and make noises, move items around, write messages in the condensation on the bathroom mirror that appears during/after hot showers. The basic methods. If those didn't work I'm sure I could try other, more creative methods. Go all "Ghost" on the living and drag a true medium to those I want to deliver the message to :-)
