Billingham, UK, welcomes the Olympic Torch

We've all been waiting for the day to finally arrive and it certainly did not disappoint !!

We started the afternoon off at our local school for their Olympic Torch Event, picnics, brass band and an entertainment duo.

Then it was time to start to line the streets !!

And it goes onwards onto the next lucky town.  Amazing !!

The afternoon treat ended with the releasing of the charity fundraising balloons for a young boy from the school who is seriously ill, we wish you all well Jonny xx

The Olympic Torch is nearly here !!!

 

We're all soooo excited as the Olympic Torch will be coming to are area on this Sunday !!
It's also Fathers Day in the UK so we will be enjoying a nice picnic beforehand with some Olympicy Fun before the main event starts !!!!!!

The youngest of these is Sam Dixon at the young age of 14.  "Due to Sam's outstanding sporting achievements he was nominated, by his school, for the 'Teesside Schools' Sports Award'. Sam was shortlisted for an exemplary sporting achievement award on Wednesday 9th March 2011 but, what Sam actually received was Teeside Schools Sports Council, Sports Personality of the Year 2009-2010 . The award was presented by Gary Pallister, former Manchester United and England star and TV Football pundit. Sam was nominated due to his successes in swimming, one notable success was becoming Scottish National Champion for his Butterfly."
