About the Author

Anna Othitis lived and was raised in the beautiful land and country of Zimbabwe, Africa (home will always be home. She left all of her life long memories, endless charity work and good people behind vowing that she will continue supporting the needy children in her land Zimbabwe, Africa and beyond. After traveling long and short distances from the East coast to the West coast twice she and her family eventually found their sense of belonging and final settling destination in New Jersey, USA.

Her husband George, sons Johnny, Elia and Frankie encouraged her to write her first children's book titled "My First Travel Book", inspired by Frankie (Captain Frankie), who is graduating from his Masters degree in Aeronautical Science and beginning his career as a professional pilot. Anna's favorite saying is "Be Bold Be Brave".

She was inspired to write her children's books with a vision to link up the children Africa and of the world on Angelic Airlines to so many beautiful places of interest and popularity on our wonderful planet Earth with all its beautiful some natural and some man made creations and resources. One of the beautiful natural wonders featured in her books is in her birth land of Zimbabwe "The Mighty Victoria Falls" All of her books educate our children and widen their scope of interest in the amazing surroundings, creations and nature to appreciate and look after our environment for many generations still to come.

The first thing Anna thinks of at the thought of Christmas is...

I think of the less privileged children in Zimbabwe who love receiving gifts at Christmas time. Their faces gleam at any small gifts they receive, even a few candies in their hands makes them happy. I often think and I am working on sending them my books as gifts to brighten up their Christmas day, they love books and always thrive to learn more about the world beyond their borders.

What makes Christmas special for Anna...

Our family gatheration on that special day, exchanging our appreciation, bond and love for one another. This year will be even more special as we have a new addition to our family, our first grand child, seven month old grand daughter Annamaria, her first Christmas. I look forward to seeing her smiling face that will gleam with excitement seeing all the Christmas decorations, gifts and glory of Christmas Day.

Anna's Christmas Wish for 2015…

That peace and love be on earth throughout the world, that we find peace amongst one another and that we stop wars and killings amongst humans and all animals large and small, wild and tame. That we save this wonderful earth that we live on from distractions of all forms.

There is Layer after Layer of Learning!

This book was such a delight to read! My children were hooked after the first sentence. Being able to teach them about important landmarks from all over the world in such a fun way is an absolute ingenious idea. Not only did they learn some geography but they really did like that they were using their imagination to get on that plane and travel around the world. It was so easy to make it into a game where before we landed in a new destination we flew around the house to get there. This book is something that we will definitely go back to night after night. The layers of learning were a truly appreciated part of this book. I loved that we really did have to go back to the details of each destination to answer the questions. This just helped implant the information that they were getting about these amazing places. I highly recommend this book to read during the long summer break when kids’ brains can sometimes turn to mush. I even learned a thing or two! I am terrible at geography and this book uses maps, countries flags, and actual images from the destination to help give you more context of where the seven wonders are making it much easier to comprehend.

The pictures, although simple in design, were colorful and well done. I loved that they used both real images and graphics to help make the imagery pop and hold your interest. I cannot say enough about how much fun this book was. There are many books we go through nightly, some we revisit once in a while and there are some that we love to read over and over. “My First Travels” is without a doubt a definite staple read in our house!

I lived and was raised in the beautiful land and country of Zimbabwe, Africa (home will always be home). We relocated to Wanaque, New Jersey, USA, our new home and where our younger son, Frankie, took up his “American Dream”.

 My husband George, sons Johnny, Elia and Frankie encouraged me to write my first children’s book titled My First Travel Book, which was inspired by Frankie (Captain Frankie). Given a wonderful opportunity, he graduated in his Masters degree in Aeronautical Science, and is successful in his career as a professional pilot. My favorite saying is: “Be Bold Be Brave”.

My dream is to be given the opportunity for my book to reach each and every less fortunate child who will have the opportunity to fantasy travels through our book to see our lovely world destinations, and to one day to give back and assist the needy in Africa and beyond, to keep giving care and love to the less fortunate. Whilst in Zimbabwe I was involved with many charitable organizations and groups where my greatest passion and love was with the primitive, simple people of Zimbabwe, Africa and will still continue to reach out to the many beautiful children of the world.

Now living in the USA, after having traveled some short and some long journeys, to get to our final destination, we realize how small this world really is, yet is also so big and so beautiful in each and every corner. Still so much is untouched by humans, which will hopefully remain sacred in many areas. We have to cherish every and all beautiful things that our planet earth has to offer to us.
