Book Review
Vector | Tradecraft: Phase Zero
by Michael Shusko

Book Description
When researcher Jawad Khattib gasps his last breath on the Massachusetts General Hospital floor, the Department of Homeland Security wants answers—especially after a preliminary autopsy suggests he died of radiation poisoning. What exactly was Khattib working on? And who was he working for? DHS Agent Lee Jansen is rushed to Boston and paired with expert toxicologist Dr. Emma Hess to crack the case. All evidence points to the creation of a dirty bomb, but the clues seem too clean, too obvious. During the course of their investigation, they discover the horrible truth. This new weapon is far more deadly than anyone had expected. It isn’t just capable of killing hundreds—it’s capable of killing hundreds of thousands. Can they stop what’s been set in motion by a madman with a dangerous secret before it’s too late?

Hubbie's Book Review
In the modern world the fear of attacks from unknown sources and the methods they will use is a major concern for all intelligence services throughout the world. The author has written a brilliant novel around that subject and his in-depth detail and descriptive writing makes for an intriguing story line.

As science and technology develops the type of attack that could be launched is such a real threat, the CIA get a tip off that an attack is planned.  But the investigation takes them down a path with horrors they could not imagine they would have to face and on top of which they have a very tight deadline to stop it.

This book will really make you think about how clever and genius people are to go to any lengths to act upon their beliefs and it is the hard working security services we must give praise and thanks for keeping us all safe and these traits are brilliantly portrayed in this novel.

The story line is a brave one to write about in the current political state of the world but brings home many of the fears we face and that are current.  A refreshing, different and a must read for all fans of espionage and thrillers.
