Christmas Advent - Among the Olive Groves by Chrissie Parker

Elena Petrakis adores living on the Greek island of Zakynthos. When World War Two looms her way of life is threatened. Left with no choice she joins the island's resistance to fight for what she believes in; her family, her home, and her freedom.

Decades later, thousands of miles away in the Cornish town of Newquay, Kate Fisher prepares to celebrate her twenty-first birthday, but her joy is fleeting when she learns she is adopted. Abandoning life in England, Kate flees to Zakynthos, where she is forced to acknowledge a life she has struggled to come to terms with, one that will change her future.

From the beautiful crystal turquoise seas of the Ionian Islands to the rugged shores of the Cornish coast, 'Among the Olive Groves' is a story of love, bravery and sacrifice.

Chrissie's Christmas Wish...
"I wish for a less stressful Christmas this year. My family have had a rough few years, with relatives that have been seriously ill over Christmas or died close to it. I wish that we could all enjoy the memories of our loved ones who are no longer with us, and have better Christmas this year. Family are very important to me, and I wish them nothing but happiness this Christmas."

Fondest Christmas Memory...
"I always remember my family Christmases growing up with fondness, my entire family got together on Christmas day and there was lots of laughter and celebration. I also have a fond Christmas memory of the first Christmas with my husband, we were in Paris for the Millennium, he was touring with a show and we all went to a local Parisian cafe and celebrated Christmas by having Ham, Egg and chips for lunch!"

Top 3 ways you enjoy to relax at Christmas...
I love reading Christmas books, I start at the end of November and cram as many in as I can before December ends.
I love watching Christmas themed films, Elf is my favourite, and have seen it many times.
I enjoy going to carol concerts, fayres and other Christmas related events, it’s always fun and relaxing, and get’s me in the Christmas mood.
