Book Description
A riveting story of love and desperation, greed and redemption.

Fraudulent car accidents is a multi-million dollar racket, involving unscrupulous medical providers, personal injury attorneys, and the cooperating passengers involved in the accidents—and who also receive a portion of the illegal proceeds. Such is the fate of newly engaged, Nathan and Shari, whose joy is tempered by the dark cloud of mounting debt.

A chance encounter with a stranger in whom Shari confides her troubles proves fortuitous: he tells her of a get-rich-quick scheme that will put her and her fiancé on easy street. Seduced by the chance to move from hard times to good times in no time, Sheri takes the carrot offered her, and finds herself acting as a “stuffed passenger”—the “victim” in a staged auto accident. The act goes according to plan and Shari gets her payday, but getting out and breaking free of the insurance fraud underworld will take nothing short of a miracle.

Across the nation, insurance fraud from staged auto accident schemes costs the insured more than $50 billion yearly. Crashers is a true-to-life novel that uncovers how the innocent get lured into the scheme of "cappers" and "hammers."

Our Book Review
The story line had me hooked from page one and I struggled to put the book down.  Reading this book will change the way you drive and approach the roads in the future as well as automatically thinking that any car crash you see could be the result of one of the party involved being paid to instigate the accident for a quick payout.

The book portrays how the strong and influential have contacts to prey on the weak and vulnerable to help them achieve their goals and then dispose of them once their aim has been achieved.

Following the characters plight they find themselves in the current trend of making a fast buck by causing car accidents and using a dodgy lawyers and doctors to fake documents, owing money and out of work the offer is too good to turn down.  Unbeknownst to them, the police investigation team is closing in and this adds to the excitement and makes this a page turning thriller.

One of the reasons I enjoyed this book is that it showed the vulnerability of humans.  If you were down and out and someone offered you the chance of a way out, would you take the offer knowing that your life would be enhanced and poverty ended even though is through an illegal activity or would your conscious tell you otherwise?

An eye-opening real life tale of insurance fraud that will shock you to the core.
