by Melissa Foster
Book DescriptionNew Release........
TRU BLUE is a sexy, dark stand-alone novel written in the same loving, raw, and emotional voice romance readers have come to love, and the deeply emotional literary prose women's fiction readers have come to expect, from New York Times & USA Today bestselling, award-winning author Melissa Foster.
He wore the skin of a killer, and bore the heart of a lover...
There's nothing Truman Gritt won't do to protect his family--Including spending years in jail for a crime he didn't commit. When he's finally released, the life he knew is turned upside down by his mother's overdose, and Truman steps in to raise the children she's left behind. Truman's hard, he's secretive, and he's trying to save a brother who's even more broken than he is. He's never needed help in his life, and when beautiful Gemma Wright tries to step in, he's less than accepting. But Gemma has a way of slithering into people's lives and eventually she pierces through his ironclad heart. When Truman's dark past collides with his future, his loyalties will be tested, and he'll be faced with his toughest decision yet.

"Such a powerful, gritty, emotional, heart-wrenching, soul searching read. In my opinion, this is her BEST BOOK YET! And it really, really needs to be made into a film!!!!
If you only read one book this year - make sure it's this one!"
"Tru Blue is more than a romance, it is a story of love, a story of hope and a story of courage. 10 + stars."

Our Book Review
The story begins with a powerful impact and stays with you long after you have finished reading it. It's extremely emotional in the first couple of chapters and you know that your in for a hell of a read.
I loved the dark depth to the powerful backbone of the story, it grasps hold of your heart as you read it, which is sadly real life for some. I found myself choked at times whilst reading, it was literally heartbreaking in places. This wasn't just a romance this was a shocking and beautiful tale with real life issues. I read half the book in one sitting and had to force myself to put it down otherwise nothing would have got done that day, I was almost lost in the moment of the story and will admit I held off reading the last couple of chapters as I did not want it to end.
Truman Gritt, Tru, is one of the main characters, his loyalty to his brother and family tugs at your heart. He is every girls dream, sexy, protective with strong powerful arms to wrap around you, a hard exterior that carries a heart of pure gold melting you to the core. Both Tru and his brother are massively neglected by their drug addict of a mother, they live a harrowing life and are forced to live in a squalor, as Tru does the best he can looking after his brother. Then everything changes in a split second and life comes crashing down on them as Tru's life is put on hold as he finds himself in jail for a murder he did not commit, thinking he was protecting his brother.
What he finds upon release breaks your heart. So clear were the descriptions I could sense everything it was describing and the anger and sadness climbed up inside of me.
Loveable Gemma pushes her way into his Tru's life, just when it's the last thing he needs, seeing the panic in his eyes. I found her an absolute hoot! She sees past his hard exterior, sensing his softness and filling her own need. From that moment, oh my wordy, a wonderful, strong, emotional and highly sexual romance develops that fills your heart with happiness as you will their relationship, and the family that could be, on. But what will she think when she learns of his horrendous past? Will Tru's past, and present, stop their happiness?
What really shocked me in the story was two things - 1) just how much I loved this pushy lady, she was so endearing, I absolutely loved her and she made me smile throughout and 2) The strength of Tru's loyalty even if it meant stopping his life from moving forward for the sake of others.
I smiled so much through the lighter, happier times. The ending will make you go weak all over, it took my breath away. Wow, what a story, I will definitely be reading this again. This has to be one of my favorite books by Melissa, only topped by Have No Shame, both have full blown emotional issues that take hold of you. One story never to be forgotten!
