All Ion Jacobs ever wanted was to be normal. But when you’re capable of killing with your very thoughts, it’s hard to blend in with the crowd.

Running from his past and living in fear of being discovered, Ion knows he will never be an average college student. But when Hawk, the beautiful, mysterious girl next door unearths his darkest secret, Ion’s life is flipped upside-down. He’s shocked to discover a whole world of people just like him -- a world in another dimension, where things like levitation, shape-shifting, and immortality are not only possible… they’re normal.

Forced to keep more secrets than ever before, Ion struggles to control his powers in the real world while commuting between realms -- until his arch enemy starts a fight he can’t escape. Now he has sealed the fate of the Dimension, severing their connection to the real world, and locking himself inside forever. But a deadly threat hidden in plain sight may cost Ion more than just his freedom -- it may cost him his life.

Worlds Beneath
(The Blood Race #2)
By K.A. Emmons
YA SciFi, Fantasy
Paperback & ebook, 333 Pages
July 1st 2018

I used to think that seeing was believing, but now, as I struggle to stay alive below the ravine, I begin to realize that - good or bad - I will see whatever I believe.

“Who are you, Icarus, that the earth opens its mouth to receive your blood?” Sensei’s words were my last thoughts before I fell into the bottomless ravine, plunging toward my own death, and bringing about Hawk’s at the same time. Or so I thought.

I woke up underwater. I awoke in a strange and unfamiliar world, filled with maze-like forest, shadows, and nightmares seemingly as vivid and dangerous as reality. I had no idea who I was, or how I got there - I couldn’t remember anything, until I remembered her: Hawk. The other half of my soul.

I knew that in order for her to stay alive, I had to survive and find a way out. But that’s easier said than done when you’re trapped in a realm as deadly as your every thought - and dominated by a hierarchy of ravenous wolf packs.

Alerted by a dream, I realize that Hawk has left the Dimension to come find me. For an instant, I rediscover hope. But that hope quickly burns to ash when I realize that we may not be the only ones down here. Someone else with a thirst for her blood may have survived the fall too. And I may have just lured her right into the jaws of a predator even fiercer than the wolves.

A Tour Recap

July 1: Author Interview with Jameson C Smith

If the characters of The Blood Race trilogy could jump into any other fictional world, where would they go? Oh, hands down Narnia. Because that’s where I’m trying to “jump into” every day of the week, yo. I’m still checking those closets.

July 2: Guest Post with Hot Town Cool Girl: Top 5 Tips for Aspiring Writers

#5 JUST DO IT. so many of us spend a heck of a lot of time, debating about whether we should write a book, thinking about how we would write it, wondering if we’re good enough, or psychoanalyzing every single detail.

When a single independent woman falls for a single dad, she has to decide if she’s
willing to accept the whole package.

Jennifer Palmer is not especially excited about attending the charity event, but because
it helps homeless animals and because her best friend and roommate asked her to, she
agrees to attend. Besides, it might be sort of fun bidding on an eligible billionaire and
just what Jenny needs to move forward after the break up with her loser boyfriend,
Brad.

Single dad, Chase Marlow is well-known in the community for his work with
disadvantaged women and children. He also loves animals, so when he’s asked to be
one of the auctioned billionaires, he steps up to the challenge.

Jenny isn’t planning on bidding, but when Chase enters the stage, all bets are off.
After all, it’s just one date.

Can Jenny and Chase get that one date off the ground, or will there be too many
obstacles in their way?

You can always treat yourself to Psycho in Paradise from here....

In the Florida Keys, you have to take the shady with the sunny. And Tarpon Cove
has more than fifty shades of shady going on.

Shady No. 1: When Brad is caught with the dead body of his crazy ex-girlfriend—a
body he swears was planted—the Westin family gathers to plan a strategy. That family
now including Fab, Didier, and Creole by default.

Shady No. 2: Fab is having a hard time keeping her promise to go legit. It’s not her
fault she tends to attract clients who want their problems solved without getting the
cops involved. Trying to keep her reined in is a full-time job, and a thankless one, since
Madison keeps getting roped in on “easy” jobs that wind up getting the kind of messy
that require specialized cleanup.

Shady No. 3: Ferreting out the info needed to save Brad means using sources so deep
in the friend-of-a-friend network they’re anonymous.

The only thing not shady is Creole’s love. Madison’s kept her promise never to lie to him.
Mostly. But when the killer wafts like smoke through the cracks in the investigation, it
reminds her she should’ve eaten dessert first more often.

Christmas in Paradise (Florida Keys Mystery Series Book 13)

Hubbie's Book Review
Another rip roaring ride in Tarpon Cove with the return of the eccentric occupants and our heroines Fab and Madison. No matter what they do, trouble follows with a vengeance. What do you do when your family becomes threatened from an unknown source? Obviously you defend it to the hilt. The strength factor of this novel is how close the relationships are between the lead characters and what lengths they will go to defend and prove the allegations made against them are false. Using her network on both sides of law, Madison has to prove her relation Brad is not guilty of killing his ex lover but the journey to find the truth takes her down a deep path that she is not prepared for. The one thing that shines through the story is the unrelenting love all the characters share and will do anything to protect each other.

You can never get bored of reading about the trials and tribulations of Madison and Fab as each story line is cleverly planned to keep the plot fresh and up to date. Deborah Brown has created a group of characters whose lives will live on in anyone who has read her books and always keeps the reader wanting more.

About the Author
I've been writing, in one way or another for as long as I can remember; poetry, sappy short stories (my best friend made me swear that I’d never show anyone until I changed the names), and a romance novel shoved under my bed.

I wanted to create books with a wide-range of unforgettable characters, with heat and romance, and lots of guns. It wouldn’t be complete without a slice of humor and charm.

I live with my family and demon children aka rescue cats in South Florida.
