First Five Books
The Good Father is book six in my Where
Secrets Are Safe series. The series
revolves around a unique women’s shelter, The Lemonade Stand, where secrets are
safe. One thing I’ve learned about life
and people is that everyone, everywhere has secrets. Things they know, or have discovered, or
thought, that they don’t tell anyone else.
As I continue to write stories for this series, I’m finding out about
all kinds of secrets that people keep – all kinds of people in all walks of life
with all kinds of secrets.
The books revolving around The Lemonade
Stand are not all interrelated. Many of
them don’t even feature characters who lived and breathed in previous
books. The books are connected by a
place. The Lemonade Stand. The series started out with ideas for three
books. I am currently working on an
eighth one and number nine is on its way, too.
So for anyone who is new to the series, and for those of you who want a
reminder, I’ll give you a one liner look at the first five books.
Wife By Design – The resident nurse at The
Lemonade Stand who is raising her three year old daughter on her own and acting
as unofficial guardian to a mentally challenged resident, is suddenly face to
face with the man she’d had the hots for back when she was married.
Once A Family – A RITA FINALIST! A fifteen year old girl shows up at The
Lemonade Stand claiming that her guardian, her oldest brother, is abusing her,
but he claims that it’s someone else and insists on bringing her home.
Husband By Choice – A woman who escaped an
abusive, detective ex-husband, abandons the love of her life and their young
son when the ex suddenly shows up and threatens their safety.
Child By Chance – A stripper who gave up
her son when she was sixteen is back in town with a college degree, a clean
life, and finds out that the son she gave up, the son no one knows she
mothered, is heading for serious trouble.
Mother By Fate – A counselor at The
Lemonade Stand and a bounty hunter are both searching for the same woman, but
with very different beliefs about her, and for very different reasons.
The Good Father is pivotal to all of these
books for one reason. Brett Ackerman is
the Stand’s founder. And no one knows
it. Or him.
