i have several companions i'll be filling the book in for....fleego, our senior girl, lexie, our little terrier mix, and cooper our irascible pittie puppy. leaving them with no arrangements weighs heavy on my heart sometimes...
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean, until I knew about this book I really didn't think about it, it has totally opened my eyes.
DeleteI will be entered my bubby boy 'Nemo'. Nemo will be ten years old (human years) this Septemeber. I had been wanting a small dog for a while. I was pregnant with my first child at the time. I went into labor 14 weeks to early. My sweet princess Faith was born weighing 1 lb 12 oz and 13 inches long. She grew her wings at 2 days old. It was a very hard time for my husband and I. A few days after her death my family surprised me with my puppy. He is a shi tzu and could fit in the palm of my hand. It was the best day of my life. We were trying to figure out a name, that night we watched Finding Nemo for the first time and I though 'Nemo' fit perfect. He has been my companion and best friend ever since. He was my angel during my grieving process. I dont know where I would be without him.
ReplyDeleteWhat a truly beautiful comment, I admire your strength. How thoughtful your family were with their present, a dog certainly can help through the toughest of times xx
Deletethank you. he is my angel.
DeleteMy collie, Barney
ReplyDeleteWe have a Barney in our family too - hello Barney !!
DeleteI have one special boy named Ringo. My Father bought him for me, a week before he died. He is a reminder of him everyday. He is my best friend and I know my dad is a part of him.
ReplyDeleteThat was a very special gift your father bought you, how lovely and Ringo is a lovely name. My dad did something very similar a couple of weeks before he died, my present was a car as he was car crazy at the time - totally out of control, buying a new car every month !! I know exactly what you mean when you said it feels part of you dad xx
DeleteI have a Boxer, Bella and a Siberian Huskie puppy, Loki. They are my world and I am sure my friends or family would not leave our pets homeless however it is good to have a written plan.
ReplyDeleteMy beautiful blind rescue Cocker called Holly. She was used for breeding before being dumped near a main road
